Syncope refers to a sudden loss of consciousness, followed by a rapid and complete recovery. Vasovagal syncope can usually be treated by understanding potential triggers and taking precautions, but syncope due to underlying conditions, such as arrhythmias, require treatment targeting the diagnosed cause.
