Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly used among the population. However, recent studies have highlighted concerns with prescribing NSAIDs to sub-groups of individuals, such as patients with diabetes. In this touchCARDIO interview, we speak with Dr Anders Holt (Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, Copenhagen University Hospital, Hellerup, Denmark) to discuss NSAID usage and the association between their use and the risk of heart failure. 

The abstract entitled ‘Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs linked with heart failure in patients with diabetes’ was presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2022, 26 – 29 August 2022.
