Welcome to the winter edition of the European Journal of Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology! This edition, we bring you a range of exciting and interesting expert interviews and reviews, as well as an editorial and a case report to read and enjoy.
In our ever-popular expert interviews, we discuss the 2018 EHRA Practical Guide with Hein Heidbuchel and the current potential and regulatory issues of electronic and mobile health in chronic heart failure with Martin Cowie. We also feature an editorial by Michael Derndorfer and Helmut Pürerfellner on high-density mapping with new multipolar high definition-mapping catheters in cardiac arrhythmias. We have a number of reviews discussing a range of topics, including cardiac rhythm and electrocardio vigilance in the use of a ketogenic diet (Kalra et al.), left atrial appendage occlusion with epicardial closing devices in patients with atrial fibrillation (Crijns et al.), central venous access techniques for cardiac implantable devices (Rajappan and Barsamyan) and mechanisms of atrial fibrillation and their impact on strategies for catheter ablation (Guettler et al.). We finish with a case report from Asvestas et al. on the use of flecainide in endocardial unipolar voltage abnormalities in Brugada syndrome.
