touchCARDIO is delighted to announce that Heart International has received an impressive new Impact Factor of 1.9 in the 2024 Journal Citation Reports (JCR). This achievement marks a notable increase from last year’s Impact Factor of 0.2 and highlights the journal’s growing influence in the cardiology field.

The Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is a widely recognized metric that calculates the average number of citations received by articles published in a journal. This metric, calculated by dividing a journal’s received citations by its published articles, remains a valuable tool for librarians in curating journal collections, for publishers in assessing journal performance and for researchers in selecting impactful publication venues.

Reflecting on this accomplishment, Co-Editor-in-Chief Dr Magdi El-Omar shared:

“This progress highlights the dedication and hard work of our Editorial Board, Reviewers and Editorial Team, and is a compelling endorsement of the high-quality scientific content of the journal. It is gratifying to know that our efforts are making a meaningful contribution to the cardiology community.”

The increase from 0.2 to 1.9 demonstrates exceptional growth, as Impact Factors typically rise incrementally by only 0.1 to 0.5 points. This leap reflects the dedication of everyone involved in the journal’s journey. Heart International and touchCARDIO extend a heartfelt thank you to our authors, reviewers and Editorial Board members, whose ongoing support has made this success possible. We look forward to continuing to advance the field and bring high-quality cardiology research to our readers.
