Welcome to Heart International 20.1. This issue highlights the importance of combining innovation with critical evaluation to advance cardiovascular care across intervention, electrophysiology, hypertension and population health.
Bryan Kluck re-examines the significance of residual shunting after PFO closure, while Johanna Tonko et al. provide an in-depth review of the evolving mechanisms underlying sustained ventricular fibrillation. Razieh Parizad et al. explore sudden cardiac arrest in young adults, emphasizing prevention and community response, and Patricia Otero Valdes et al. and Ruchi Sharma et al. examine emerging and established approaches to resistant hypertension. Finally, Bhupinder Singh et al. present original research on hypertension awareness in Northern India, highlighting the valuable role of caregivers in disease management.
